Overview

Strawberry farming under polyhouse cultivation is an advanced and highly rewarding method that allows farmers to produce high-quality strawberries throughout the year, regardless of climate changes. Indian Agro Services brings expertise, infrastructure, and ongoing support to make strawberry farming more accessible and profitable for small and medium-scale farmers.

Project Objective

The main objective of this project is to help farmers adopt modern protected cultivation methods for strawberry production. Through polyhouse farming, we aim to minimize environmental risks, optimize resource usage, and ensure consistent and profitable yields.

Project Highlights

  • Cultivation Area: Customizable – from 500 sq.m to 1 acre

  • Polyhouse Type: Naturally ventilated or semi-automatic with shade nets and insect-proof screens

  • Irrigation: Automated drip irrigation system with fertigation

  • Expected Duration: First harvest in 90–120 days

Ideal Conditions for Strawberry Cultivation

  • Temperature: 15°C–25°C

  • Soil pH: 5.5–6.5 (well-drained loamy soil recommended)

  • Light: 8–10 hours of sunlight daily or controlled lighting inside polyhouse

Expected Yields

  • Per Plant: 200–300 grams

  • Per Acre: 12–18 tons annually (variety-dependent)

Market Opportunities

Strawberries have high demand in urban markets, dessert manufacturing, ice cream industries, and direct-to-consumer sales. Polyhouse cultivation ensures premium quality, increasing market value.
